SoCoHo supports Camp Hope

Please join us on Thursday, May 15 as we make our donation to Camp Hope, the beneficiary of our 16th annual 'Sweethearts in Texas Spring Fling Hoedown!' It will be a special time to come together in support of such a great cause. Starting at 8PM, enjoy light snacks along with the music and fun. Tyler Goolsby of the Lone Star Lariats will be our guest instructor for the evening.

About Camp Hope. AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc launched the first Camp Hope for 22 HIV+ children in September 1996. These Houston children experienced a safe and fun-filled weekend without fear of stigma and discrimination.

Today, Camp Hope is an exciting weeklong adventure at Camp For All, near Brenham, Texas. Over 150 HIV+ children between the ages of 7 and 15 gather to enjoy swimming, fishing, camping, archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, and simply hanging out with newfound friends.

Dance Lessons with SoCoHo

We offer free dance lessons on Thursday evening at the Brazos River Bottom at 2400 Brazos St in Houston. Join us from 8-10PM. You don't need a partner—just a good attitude!

We usually teach a line dance during the first hour and a couples' dance during the second hour. For the couples' dances, we begin with the basics on the first Thursday of the month: body positioning, frame, basic technique and basic steps. As the month progresses, we add on to the basic steps and by the end of the month, you have a nice dance pattern to bring to the floor the next time you go out dancing.

Thanks for stepping out onto our dance floor on the Web!
