SoCoHo Information

History

Southern Country Houston was founded in 1991. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization existing for educational, social, and charitable purposes. Over the years, we have donated hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to other charitable organizations such as AIDS Foundation of Houston, Colt 45s, Imperial Court, Lone Star Volleyball Association, H.A.T.C.H., Amigos Volunteers in Education & Services (AVES), Bering Community Church, AssistHers, and Montrose Clinic.

The club promotes country western dancing in the GLBT community by offering workshops open to the public without discrimination. In our workshops, we teach all forms of country western dance, representing the full spectrum of the country western dance heritage.
