Membership Benefits & Application
Have you joined SoCoHo or renewed your membership for the 2010 - 2011 year? Did you know that your membership fee is tax deductible because our club is a 501(c)(3) organization?
New members should note that our membership year runs from April 1 through March 31. Because some of our events occur in bars, you must be at least 21 years old to join.
There are many reasons for joining our organization. People who join show a commitment to themselves as well as to Southern Country Houston. When you are a member, you have a vested interest in the growth of our organization. We are limited in how we interact with the community by the size of our membership. The stronger our membership is, the more we can give to the community.
The dance lessons are free and everyone is welcome; however, it seems that our most dedicated dancers are members. Members are almost always present at dance events, have committed themselves to learn to dance and to try to interest other people in dancing, and to improve their present level of skill. Many members have even gone on to compete on a worldwide level.
Dance is a form of performance art. If you have never given yourself the chance to learn, now is a great time to start.
This year’s membership includes the following benefits. We are always trying to add more benefits for our members.
By presenting your 2010 - 2011 membership card, you receive:
- free entry to the BRB (excluding special BRB events)
- IAGLCWDC name tag (on request)
- group rates when we travel (when available)
- voting power at Southern Country Houston membership meetings
- eligibility to run for office on the Board of Directors
- benefits available to members of clubs that belong to the IAGLCWDC
- eligibility to serve on committees at IAGLCWDC conventions
This might be particularly interesting to you who are involved in dance competition. You have a voice when rules and regulations of the competition are discussed. - eligibility to join
